Marilynn Lucille Adams, 74

April 11, 1947 – August 13, 2021

Marilynn Lucille Adams died peacefully on August 13, 2021 surrounded by her family. Marilynn was born April 11, 1947 to Art and Helen Pickett in Anaconda. She was their first child and was followed by sisters Arlene and Louise.

She grew up in the Goosetown section of Anaconda living with her grandparents Ben and Louise Skoyen. She attended schools in Anaconda where she met the love of her life, Larry Adams during high school.

Larry and Marilynn were married June 5, 1965. Their firstborn John followed in April 1966 and then a daughter Michelle in June 1973. Marilynn’s caring nature shined through when she adopted her niece Robin in 1985. Marilynn and Larry worked and raised their family at Warm Springs. Marilynn also worked at Galen and later at New Horizons Assisted Living.

Throughout her life she enjoyed spending time with her aunts Shirley Flachmeyer and Lorraine Kitchen. Most often they could be found playing card games. One of Marilynn’s fondest memories was being a Flower Grandma in her granddaughter Emily’s wedding. She found enjoyment with Tuesday trips to the casino to play Keno. As she grew more fragile, her friend Jared Casey, would go out of his way to make sure she was comfortable and could enjoy her time playing her favorite machine.

Marilynn had a few unique things that set her apart. She was an amateur fry cook who used Crisco as the main ingredient. She believed the world was against her because she was left handed. Every Friday she had to have her hair fixed and she refused to leave the house if it wasn’t perfectly arranged. Her favorite holiday was Halloween. She always loved a good scary movie. Her family found comfort that she chose to pass on Friday the 13th.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, sisters, grandparents and all of her aunts and uncles. Her son John entered Heaven in 2005 and he was there to greet her as she became our angel.

Marilynn leaves behind her husband Larry, daughters Michelle (Jim) Morley, Robin (Tyler Blevins) Connolly. Her best friend and granddaughter Lily Adams. Six grandchildren and one grandson-in-law.

The family would like to express our gratefulness Mary Morley for always bringing her beauty to life. To her doctor, Eddie Amberg, and Home Health/Hospice nurse Ruth Chambers; the kindness and care that you gave Marilynn was phenomenal and we will always remember what you did for her.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. The family asks that donations be made in Marilyn’s name to Anaconda Pintlar Hospice, 117 East 7th Street, Anaconda, MT 59711.
